Comb Binding is a very common product that is more cost effective, and supplies can be easily found.  It uses a preformed plastic element where prongs are stretched and fed through rectangular punched holes the prongs are then released and return to their preformed position making a complete loop.  Its primary feature is that sheets can be added or removed.  The a bound book can lie flat, however the sheets cannot be turned 360˚.
